It's nearly midnight, and Julie Smith is busy maintaining Artie, the set of pressure chambers used to bring up organisms from the deep. Every day Julie takes Artie apart, cleans the components, and reassembles it for the next dive. The next dive, our sixth, will carry Shawn Polson and Jamie Botelho.
