This is the hatch on the submersible Alvin. It’s located under the sub’s red sail.

Alvin’s hatch opening is only 20 inches in diameter. Any equipment that users want to bring on board must be able to pass through the hatch with its sealing surface protection ring in place, leaving a maximum diameter of 19 inches.
