Clean Lab

""

A “clean” lab, in scientific parlance, is where water, sediment, and other samples can be processed without risk of contamination by outside sources of metals and chemicals. This is the clean lab on board Atlantis. This team is waiting for the arrival of Alvin and its water and sediment samples. Once the sub is returned safely to the ship, the lab team will often work through the night, processing and preserving the day’s samples.
